Moses turned aside: Exodus 3
When I read Exodus chapter 3 I tried to relate it my world. So I don't work in the wilderness but I do
work with computers. If I saw the copier on fire I would definitely turn aside to see what was going on. If the copier spoke to me I would think I was going crazy.
I am sure that Moses had all these thoughts. I seriously doubt that talking bushes were an every day thing. We are so use to reading passage like this one we forgot, talking bushes, floating zoo's, man eating fish are not the norm, even for Moses I am thinking this was not normal.
Moses gets over his shock fairly quickly, accepted that this was God. He then began talking with God into the burning bush. I am guessing the atmosphere wasn't relaxed and easy, especially since God stops Moses in his tracks and tell him to take of his shoes out of respect for the holy ground he is standing on.
An experience like this one would change you forever.
Moses had a pretty amazing life story so far but event is the pivotal point that kicks all of God's preparations for his life into high gear.
I don't know what God is preparing you for or what your life has looked like so far, but we should all get up each morning asking "what do You have for me today?"
