Mission Impossible: 1 Samuel 21
Summary of 1 Samuel 21:
David flees King Saul. His first order of business is to find some food for the men that followed him on the run, and to obtain weapons. His first stop is a priest. Telling the priest that he is on a “special mission from the King” he obtains some bread and the sword of Goliath, his old opponent. Next he
finds himself in Achish. Being so well known in the area, and not wanting the King of Achish to feel he is a threat, David decides a bit of theatrics are in order. Drooling and acting crazy he slides past the guards and continues on his way.
What I learned from 1 Samuel 21:
- Brain over braun is not a new concept.
- God doesn’t always do things on our time schedule.
- God has a reason for making us wait for rescue at times, we have to trust that he loves us and has reasons we cannot see or understand in our present minds.
- A weapon used against you can become a weapon that protects you.
