Pay It Foward: Deuteronomy 24

There is a stereo type with second generation wealth. They tend to be less generous than first generation wealth. They have always been provided for, and may not know what it feels like to be without, hungry, or freed from slavery. God knowing the hearts of people takes the time to remind His people. I am the one who freed you, and has met every need.
I will provide for you and go before you if you worship me only. You don't need to worry. Remember what it feels like to not have, to be a slave, to be without. In your remembering don't be greedy, don't take advantage of the poor, the foreigner or the widow. You have ME, you don't need to worry.
You can afford to be generous, kind and compassionate. Give what you have been given. My love and care for you is infinite.

This is the eternal truth I find in Deuteronomy 24

Tid Bits in Deuteronomy 24:
  • Rule for divorce, marriage and military service
  • Being fair to those who you loan money to
  • Recovering debts and wages to laborers
  • Justice to the poor and less fortunate among you
