We are His people: Deuteronomy 26

An immigrant to a new county. They look different. They speak different. Their family has a different way of doing things. They could learn to blend in, if they want to fit in with everyone else, but it won't change who they are. They were born into the nationality they are. They have another option. They can embrace who they are and not worry about what people around them think.

Israel was chosen by God to be strange, weird, and different. They were called to be loved, lead and in a covenant relationship with the One True God! No other nation had just one God....that was weird. No other nation had a relationship with an unseen God. Other people had beautifully hand crafted idols that they could touch, bow down to and see. Israel was chosen, as we are chosen; who you are is not optional. How you live is.

We are called, chosen and loved. We turn the other cheek, love our God with all our heart, soul and mind; we don't love the things the world loves, or give our souls for the approval of others.

Why not embrace who we are!! We are chosen for obedience to a loving creator; The One True God. He has chosen us to be in a covenant relationship with Himself. Why would we want to walk away and fit in anywhere else.

We have been chosen to obedience
1 Peter 1:2
who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

Ephesians 1:4
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love

Deuteronomy 26:6-7
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one. Love the LORD with all your heart, soul and strength. Teach your children these commandments.
Make no treaty with the nations of the land. You are a holy people, the LORD has chosen you. He will drive out the nations before you.
