Is that the truth? Genesis 6

 Is that the truth?

There are some subjects I don't know much about. For instance; if you were to tell me that there are 20 people on a water polo team I would be inclined to believe you, the only way I would know if you were telling the truth would be to Google it. Before Google I don't know how anyone found information quickly. I spend a lot of time searching the internet and reading books, because, there are a lot of things I don't know.
When it comes to Satan, I need God, not Google. Satan spins lies faster and better than I the internet can spit out Wiki definitions. He's had a lot of practice telling lies. He's been spending all of his time since time began thinking of ways to trip up God's creation. His one goal is to keep us from having a relationship with our Creator.
Genesis 6 is the result of His deceptive, and it seems to have had the desired result. As God searches the earth He is able to find ONE man who's heart is turned toward Him. Satan has entangled the hearts and lives of all but one man. Only Noah could be trusted to obey, persevere and humbled himself before God.
We should be asking God daily and with a  humble heart to reveal and protect us from Satan's lies. We are gullible and vulnerable on our own we . The minute we think we "I've got this", we are right where Satan wants us. Under God's protective wing we are immovable, strong and safe.

Cool Tidbits from Genesis 6:

        • Part of the reason for the population explosion was the long lifespans of man. As God surveys the wickedness He decreases the lifespans after Noah from the hundreds to 120, giving people less time to sin.
        • The sons of God or angels that had children were more than likely demons indwelling men and having children with women
    • 2 Peter 2:4-5New Living Translation (NLT)
    • For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell,[a] in gloomy pits of darkness,[b] where they are being held until the day of judgment. And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood
      • We know from James that sin starts in the thoughts, these verses tell us that men's thoughts were continually sinful
      • .Noah did not find grace because of all the good deeds he did, Noah found grace because He believed in God and was humble before Him.
      • The size of the boat described could hold 125,000. sheep sized animals. The average animal is smaller than a sheep. This would leave some room, assuming that larger lizards could be babies. I like to think God had them hibernate for much of this time, but that's just a theory.

  1. I love the passage you quoted-1 Peter 1:17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors

I think it's my reminder that there's a bigger objective out there and helps me put more in purspective the trivial drama that overwhelms me sometimes in everyday life. That this isn't permanent and to remain impartial in the drama. Just my thoughts...
