A Frog in Hot Water
Have you heard the saying about a frog in hot water ? The frog is placed in cold water, and not sensing any trouble he begins to swim and enjoy his new metal pond. Slowly the water is turned up and before you know it, he's swimming in frog soup.
As I was thinking about Noah it came to mind. In order to use it in my blog I wanted to check to see if this old wives tale could was true. Of course I went right to the source, Wiki, and there it was. So, if you decide some evening you want frog soup, here is what you need to know. Use cold water!
Be sure to put your frog in cold water and turn it up as slowly as you can. If you heat up the water first, your frog dinner will know your intentions and hop right out. You will end up chasing your dinner trying to convince him of you innocence. The key to keeping the frog in the pot is the ruse of cold water and the slow progression of heat. The frog must not feel the change as it happens around him.
Satan knows this secret. He talked to eve in his most charming voice until she began to slowly see his way of thinking. He knows that with most people it takes time to condition us . He is fine with the long game. He knows that with patience on the dial we will slowly become like the world around us. He know that the minute we detect the change we are going to hop out of the world and jump back to God, so he is very careful to make the change gradual. Our best and only defense is to stay in God's word and abide in God. We must walk step by step with Him daily.
Noah was the only one, out of the entire population not swimming in worldly soup. He was ready when God called.

Cool Tidbits from Chapters 6-8
- God is amazingly precise in His detail as He gives Noah instructions.
- The space in the Ark is calculated to be able to hold 125,000 sheep. Since the majority of animals are smaller than sheep this makes sense. We assume larger animals were taken as young animals and hopefully in hibernation during the journey.
- Noah is 600 years old as his journey begins
- Animals are given to men as food once they leave the ark
- God establishes a covenant with Noah.
