Ruth Chapter 3: Wait on Me and Trust

Ruth Chapter Three: Wait on Me and Trust

Summary of Ruth Chapter Three

Naomi speaks to Ruth. She tells her that she feels responsible to find her a husband. She instructs Ruth to get all fixed up and go to Boaz in the night. She wants Ruth to ask Boaz to marry her and be the kinsman redeemer for the family. She is told how to do this through an ancient custom. Ruth does as she is instructed and goes to him in the night. Boaz in sleeping on the threshing floor.She spreads part of his garment over her as she lays at his feet. Boaz tells her that there is a kinsman redeemer closer to Naomi than he is, however she needs to trust him to take care of the details
. He sends her home with food to care for Naomi.

What I learned from Ruth Chapter Three;

1. Ruth was obedient. She trusted the wisdom of those older than her.
2. Ruth knew that if Boaz took her as a wife he would care for both her and Noami. Ruth was selfless.
3. Boaz asked Ruth to trust Him to the redemption plan. She did not question, offer advice, or meddle. Boaz knew what needed to be done. I need to remember that God has already planned for my redemption. He chose me, redeemed me, and will come for me. There is nothing for me to do but obey and wait.
4. I love the analogy of putting on my best for my redeemer. All my efforts should go into a life that pleases Him.
5. Just as Boaz gave Ruth good things to share with Naomi, God gives me good things to care for those around me. I need to be generous.
