1 Samuel 24: God has perfect Timing

Summary of 1 Samuel 24:

Saul hears where David is hiding. He takes the army and goes looking for David. While they are looking he excuses himself to use the bathroom. It just so happens he relieves himself on the side of the cave where David and his men are hiding. David's men see this as the opportunity to overtake Saul. David sneaks over and cuts off a corner of Saul's robe, but then remember that only God puts Kings in place or removes them. His men follow his lead and leave Saul alone.
When and his men start out on their way David shouts down to Saul. " My Lord the King..." He shows Saul the corner of the robe he cut off and uses it to prove to Saul  that he is not trying to harm him. Saul sheds tears of repentance and tells David that he trusts him. He also acknowledges that David will someday be King and asks him to spare his families lives. David reminds Saul of the proverb "wicked is as wicked does". He promises not to hurt Saul's family, then he and his men go back into hiding. Saul heads home.

Just Because Something Seems Right Doesn't Mean It Is

What I learned from 1 Samuel 24:

1. Just because something seems right doesn't mean it is.
2. When your friends try you what is right, the voice you need to hear is God's.
3. Take a moment and talk to God. He will show you what is good and just in His eyes.
4. Even though people seem repentant for a moment it doesn't mean they have changed.
5. A good leader leads people by example. A Godly leader is trusted because they follow God.
